Role Summary
We are seeking experienced brokers to join our team. To be a Quincannon team member, you’ll need to be self-driven and motivated but work closely with all our shipbrokers to support and meet the objectives of the company.

As a shipbroker, one of the key responsibilities is to maintain and enhance existing business and to generate new opportunities to grow Quincannon. Expanding and developing contact with ship owners, charterers, manufacturers, traders etc. on both a regionally and globally.

You will provide a high level of customer experience and continuously seek market data, information and intelligence relevant to the local, regional and/or global trade lane. Be able to apply market intelligence and coordinate the relevant information flow in an effective manner. This vital attribute and the sharing and exchange of information internally and externally is a skill and competence that can be used to make the right connections to open avenues for expansion and create opportunities for progress.

Shipbrokers will develop, negotiate and conclude spot and contract business with ship owners and charterers to the satisfaction of all parties and consistently delivering a high level of service quality standards. You’ll accomplish this by providing insights and guidance to perpetuate good and sustainable business. Share and discuss market conditions internally, and help produce regular weekly and monthly freight and situation reports.

Requirements

  • Dynamic individual looking for future to grow in a challenging and rewarding career in a competitive shipbroking organization.

  • Diploma or Degree in Maritime Studies with a minimum of 3-5 years’ experience in shipbroking, operations or chartering in the chemical or gas tanker industry.

  • Job will require work outside of the normal working hours as necessary and must be willing to travel locally and abroad.

  • Communications and interpersonal skills are fundamental distinguishing qualities and characteristics expected of the candidate.

  • Be able to always act professionally, ethically, and with integrity during and outside of business.
